Speaking and events – Summer 2022
I’m just in the process of confirming more speaking and events tied to the launch of Multiplied. Following my last post we hosted the official book launch which you can now watch back here – this event included a 30 minute talk of me introducing key themes in the book, and also a Q&A that was expertly hosted by Eva O’Brien
Since Easter I’ve been focusing more on sharing the book with internal client audiences through work at TPXimpact. Highlights from the last few weeks have included a session with Surrey County Council, and I was pleased to spend more time this week with the Scottish Digital Academy – for my latest trip to Edinburgh as part of the ‘Leading in a Digital World’ programme I introduced the topic of service design. My talk here was followed by an excellent session by Hilary Brownlie from Registers of Scotland – we then both joined a Q&A together afterwards which I really enjoyed.
Upcoming speaking and events
This summer is going to be a mix of in person and remote events. TPXimpact are in the process of organising two in person book launch events for early July – we’re hoping to host these in Leeds and London with guest speakers/panellists taking part.
Aside from this, I’ll be keynoting at UCD Gathering on the 8th of June. This conference ran last year as a remote gathering during Covid and is returning this year with a great programme. My talk will focus on ‘Multiplied by Design’, looking more at some of the design themes in the book, as well as exploring some other examples of how user centred design is a multiplier if approached in the right ways, and with the right mindsets.
Following UCD Gathering, I’ll be taking part in another remote event as part of Digital Leaders Week 2022. In a Digital Leaders Book Review session on Friday 24th June, I’ll be answering questions about Multiplied, and will also be joined by Sarah Burnett talking about her book The Autonomous Enterprise Powered by AI.
Finally, before we reach the summer break in July (my year is still organised around school terms), I’ll be travelling to Cornwall to attend and speak at Agile on the Beach. This is a conference I’ve always wanted to go to and it’s in a great location on the coast, even with the long train ride from Cumbria! I’ll be talking about ‘Multiplied by Design’ again at this event.
Look out as well for a couple of podcast interviews coming up over the next month which I’ll share as soon as they’re live – keep an eye on my Twitter or LinkedIn updates.
